Book Review # 157 Your Destination Has Arrived : Barry Cheema
Blurb:
Is it possible for the modern man to be happy, not virtually but in reality?
Why is it that despite the tones of philosophies, motivational speeches and age-old meditation techniques, inner-peace and contentment seem to be unrealistic and impossible?
Bruno, a K9 (police dog), gets a human life as a reward for his phenomenal act of bravery. He can stay in this human body forever, provided he fulfils a condition in the given time. But while doing so, he has to deal with the subconscious mind of this human body, which happens to be that of a terrorist!
A tale of hope, search and longing. An unbelievable story that you would love to believe.
My Take
Bruno is rewarded a human life for his sacrfices and act of bravery. But how does he handle this life with a subconscious mind of a terrorist is what the book is about. Find out how Bruno manages .
A unique storyline. The author has managed to execute the story well. Something in the lines of afterlife/ next birth. Mainly the book talks about life and the value it deserves. We never realise the importance of things till we lose them. This book is an attempt to self realisation without being preachy.
The dual personalities of Bruno is handled well, the story neatly carries the strong message wihout being preachy. The concept is novel and executed well.
The spiritual, emotional and the karmic angles are well connected dots. The philisophy is handled well. Recommended for people who love reading and learning more about life in a fictional way without being preachy and in a easy manner.
Language used is simple, narration is crisp. I would rate this 4.5/5.
