Blurb:

As a student of fashion design, Swara Srivastav’s first encounter with businessman Abhay Singh Ranawat was not a pleasant one. With her youthful exuberance, she had countered his cynicism by giving him a piece of her mind.

Now, three years later, Swara is dismayed when she realizes that she is going to be working for Abhay . Desperate for a job, she accepts the offer to be his personal assistant although she is fully qualified to be a designer. As the duo begins to work together, over shared cups of South Indian filter coffee and monsoon rain, they find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other.

Unfortunately, they have forgotten one tiny detail—that Abhay is not a free man!

Will Swara’s love be enough to help Abhay break out of the shackles of his past or will it be sacrificed on the altar of deceit and obligation?

My Take:

Love is in the air. One of the most beautiful love stories read in recent times. A dash of Mills and Boons kinda romance rehashed. Mostly love stories doesn't make sense, as people say love is blind and finding logic in them is not fair. But this one is different. Subtle writing and romance makes this one an endearing read.

Swara, a feisty girl who wants to make success as a fashion designer, has a rather brusque encounter with Abhay. His cynicism nature, a rather forgetful encounter with him (they have a tiff)and she moves on. Cut to 3 years later that she discovers she has to work for this same guy. He too makes things rough by offering her an personal assistant job, which she has to accept because of her financial crunch. The chemistry between them is amazing and both being strong headed keep giving each other back.

They fall in love, but don't acknowledge, how they come overcome his emotional baggage and demons of past to come together as a "forever" couple is the story about.

Both the lead characters are well written. Their behavior and their emotional insecurities, they carry is very well explained. The book justifies why they do what they do. All the other characters, be it Amar, Sakshi, Neeraj, Latika, Kishen, Asmita are also given their due. The story moves ahead with all stories running parallel simultaneously. A balanced love story which goes beyond the physical and material aspects of love story. Like no flashy description of their richness, cars, offices  etc.

So make yourself a strong cuppa filter coffee and go on a ride with Kavitha reading this beautiful love story. You will love this. Not all authors have the ability to write love stories with characters that stay with you even when you finish reading the book.

Rating:

I would rate this 4.7/5. You can buy the book here.
