Book review#19: It's all in the Planets:Preeti Shenoy

Blurb:
Meet Aniket. Twenty-seven, techie, Mr. Average. His best friend is Subbu, a nerd who breathes, thinks and lives code. Aniket cannot believe his luck when he starts dating Trish - a stunning, sexy model, who is totally out of his league. But Trish has a list of things she wants him to work on, beginning with his pot belly and his geekiness.

Then there’s Nidhi, thirty-two, who has quit her corporate job to follow her passion. She is engaged to Manoj, Mr Perfect, except for one aspect.

Aniket and Nidhi meet on a train, a chance encounter and she agrees to become his ‘relationship coach’. It’s a decision that sets into motion a chain of events that will have a profound impact on the lives of all involved.

One man, two women and a trap called Destiny.

Preeti Shenoy:

One of the best authors we have she has her way of narrating stories. She has written a few beautiful ones, Life is what you make it, The Secret Wishlist, The one you cannot have to name a few.

My Review:

The plot revolves around Aniket, Trisha,Nidhi and Manoj. With planets, sun signs used as backdrop, the author narrate the story effortlessly. A good, positive story which we all connect with at some point of time. We all have met people with such characteristics and thoughts. It’s a story of friendship, love, understanding and cheating.

I finished the book in one go. Could totally relate to the emotions, turmoil of the characters when they are tested and looked down upon. The book talks of self-respect and also following your dreams and passions, which should be respected and accepted.

Relationships need effort and honesty. The author has conveyed this beautifully. The story is also about how sometimes, people use, and hurt without even thinking twice. Nice story with a good twist and a strong message in the power of NOW. Destiny is something which is prewritten and cannot be changed.

I would rate the book 4/5 for the good writing style and message. Worth reading and thinking about. Loved the way the story moves with enough justice to all the characters and the plot.
