Book Review # 124 The Whispering Dwapara : Rishi

Blurb:

Kings and Scientists, Gurus and Professors, Maharathi Warriors and Indian Army Veterans. All will fight against the rising dark powers of Pataal Loka: The Asuras.

Kingdom of Vedgarh, an ancient home of purebred Aryans nestled amidst the Himalayas and hidden from the modern societies, is the sole preserver of sacred Vedic knowledge and celestial powers. Sitting on the verge of yet another great war with Asuras, the kingdom is eagerly waiting for a Maharathi warrior to lead its forces. With intensifying Kaliyuga, Asuras' dark powers are rising with every passing day.

As a fallback step, the kingdom opens its gates for modern Science and weapons. A grand research project begins to harmonize ancient Vedic miracles with modern scientific principles. But the budding internal politics is eating up the kingdom like parasites. Will it impact the research project as well? What will happen if an internal conflict arises between Modern Science and Ancient Vedic science? Will Asuras win and destroy the universe's last hope of defeating the Kaliyuga forever?

Book one of The Forbidden Rhymes series begins the saga of the greatest war of Daivi Astras in
the history of mankind.

My Take:

A story that takes you to a different era.A blend of science, weapons and suspense. The toughest and the most liked thing about the book for me is the seamless writing , blending these genres and creating a world that enthralls you.

Partha,a youngest and bright student in (IIAP) Indian Institute Of Applied Physics is impatient and restless ,not really interested in theories, asking tough questions and dreams to fulfill by finding answers to the questions his father( a scientist who died keeping his research incomplete mystery) research .

Samsher Singh a solider who fights for his country, yet never respected much as he has made some grave mistakes in his career like killing innocent people from the neighboring country. His passion for his job borderlines craze as he shows no compassion and always believes in only wiping out the neighboring countries.

Krishnan a scientist whom Noble prize has eluded till now, is  a frustrated one who's aim is to be famous and recognized for his work.

What happens when people from this world with different agendas and dreams are taken to the Kingdom of Vedgarh? How will they help the hidden kingdom find their peace from the Asuras?

Why are humans from his planets taken there? Everyone's dreams and aspirations are connected. Will everyone win? If yes, at what cost? Get all your answers reading this beautifully written book.

Devarata the blind king, who is frustrated with himself and his inability to rule the kingdom without help. Shalvaak who is ambitious and cunning, Bhishma ,Dronacharya and Valmiki are the greats who help run the hidden kingdom and protect against the Asuras,

When all of them come together, this mystical, magical world is created. Everyone and everything is put to test. Parallel y few more characters are on their missions which connects to the larger picture. Friendship, loyalties, trust, truth, competition; all these emotions makes this a endearing read.

The suspense is added beautifully and the book promises more in the second part. Waiting for the same. The language is simple, easy to connect. Deviation from the story doesn't happen and the highlight for me is the mantras. Their importance advantages and disadvantages are explained beautifully.

I would rate this 5/5 for the wonderful plot, research and narration. Some beautiful words that stay with me forever are:

" That cosmic vibration is OM. We are all born from Brahman, or that energy womb, and are the cosmic energies ourselves. The vibrations of Om help us discover the cosmic energy within us."

"Mantras are the series if sounds that continuously generate at different levels or vibrations. These Mantras when chanted in complete conscious state, have a specific effect on our body and surroundings."

"Safety is Patriotism. Comfort is patriotism. And wealth is patriotism.People love their country for safety, comfort and wealth and betray it for safety, comfort and wealth."

"If you follow others, who will follow you?"
