Book Review # 115 Wild Card 2 : Asfiya Rahman

Blurb:

Tahira Rizvi was a young tennis player who got the opportunity of her life when she was invited to be part of Karan Mehrotra’s successful attempt at Wimbledon. Back from Wimbledon she wants to make one last attempt at building a career for herself as a professional tennis player. But there are just too many questions.
Has she left it too late? Will she get the support she needs from her friends and family? More importantly, will she get the opportunity she needs to prove that she can turn things around? And what about Vikram? He may say he is in love with her but can they have a future together?
What do you do if both opportunity and romance are knocking on the same door? Who will you let in first? Will Tahira be able to move from the stands of Wimbledon to the courts of Wimbledon?
And if she does, what is the price she will pay?

My Take:

The story starts from where it ended. Tahira is back home alongside all and now wants to focus more on her career as she feels she is ready to handle and play the game. But her family thinks otherwise.

Karan on the other hand has moved on and focusing on his business but still feels he's obliged to Tahira and wants to help her in all ways possible.

Vikram continues supporting Tahira and hopes to take his relatiosnhip to the next level.
After lot of persuasion and debate with her family she finds courage to talk to Karan about coaching her to play professionally. Karan agrees and start coaching with a grueling schedule which Tahira was not expecting, yet she does her best. This passion for the game keeps her so busy that she forgets the rest of the world. Will Vikram understand?

Will Tahira be able to play the sport internationally/professionally?  Read the book to find out.

The nuances of the game is explained beautifully and professionally. The story stays crisp and doesn't stretch unneccessarily. The characters are beautifully continued.

Can be read as standalone or a sequel. Makes a great read.

I would rate this 4/5 for this short and sweet story.
