My Take:
A beautiful story weaved around 6 friends, all with different backgrounds, mindsets and lifestyle. It traces their journey from being in college to in future life.
Vishal is a happy go lucky rich guy who has his head firm on his shoulders, not arrogant or flashy. He falls in love with Sreya who is practical, vulnerable and fighting demons of her past. Trust and unconditional love doesn't come easy to her.
Kavya is a carefree, intelligent, practical girl, inspite of being such independent falls in love with Aadi who loves her back but on his own terms . He wants a upper hand in the relation.
Anand and Priya are like minded people who complete the group and always together in challenges and projects that people assume them to be in love. Are they in love?
The book progresses with the transition of relationships and persons from being college friends, leading a carefree life to becoming an adult, handling responsibilities and relationships when tragedy strikes. How they cope up, what are the aftereffects of the decisions they make and whether they find their happily ever after is the book about.
The narration and the sequences are very well woven and we connect to it very easily. The story moves at a nice pace. All the characters are created beautifully and proper justification is given for their behavior. The ending I found to be abrupt.
Overall a great story that takes you in a trip down the memory lane and makes you call your partners in crime and relive those days. Its like Pani Puri with all the right ingredients of emotions; crunchy, tangy, sweet and spicy.
Rating:
I would rate the book 4.2/ 5 for keeping it simple and beautiful.
