Blurb:
Expectations are like unfaithful lovers – you suspect them, but you love them.
Saahil and Varsha are madly in love and expect to marry each other. Saahil, a carefree unemployed orphan, earns almost nothing and struggles to make ends meet. To marry Varsha, who belongs to a very wealthy family, he must have a monthly income of at least one lakh rupees, a house, a car and a bank balance of ten lakh rupees. Such are the conditions set by Varsha’s brother for Saahil. If he fails to do so in just a few months, Varsha will be married off to someone else.
As Saahil desperately struggles to complete the impossible task, he comes across many weird people and difficult situations. Will he be able to fulfil the conditions in time and marry the love of his life or will their expectations turn out to be unfaithful? This is not just a love story of two ordinary souls with extraordinary expectations, but a story of war between hope and despair.
My Take:
A very regular love story. Talks about falling in love, cross the hurdles that come and make a "happily ever after". The characters are portrayed well. Saahil is a poor guy who struggles to make ends meet, falls in love with the rich Varsha. How her brother sets next to impossible targets and how Saahil works hard to meet them and whether he wins or not forms the story.
I liked the way Saahil rose up to the challenge and how he chases his dreams ,realizes his strengths, ambitions and how the couple supports each other through thick and thin. In his journey he's amply supported by his friend and people he meet and work with who eventually end up being their friends who become their support and help him achieve his targets. Although we all know or can guess what happens in the end, still the book gives you lots of quirky and beautiful moments to relate to . And the giveaway is being positive and standing strong, facing the challenges and winning them.
Rating:
Entertaining, simple language and nice narration makes this a good read. I would rate this 3/5
