Book Review #61 Maha Vishnu Trilogy Part 1 The Code Of Manavas : Arpit Bakshi

Blurb:

Book one of the Maha Vishnu Trilogy, The Code of Manavas, is set some two million years past
ad 2050, when earth as we know it ceased to exist, and so did mankind. A new race, the Manavas, now exists on Bhoomi, the erstwhile Earth, which is divided into two cities—Madhavpur and Ayudhpur.
In the quiet and peaceful city of Madhavpur, a reclusive Krishna is busy with an immense task. He has to prepare a new abode for the Manavas before an impending apocalypse destroys them. He knows something that nobody else does—the Manavas are running out of time faster than they can imagine, and there are no inhabitable planets to escape to. To make matters worse, there is someone in Madhavpur who wants to destroy Krishna and subjugate each Manava. The Manavas, it seems, are doomed. Yet Krishna knows there is a slim chance of survival for the Manavas, although there is a huge price to be paid for it.
Will the various factions of the Manavas unite for the greater good? Will Krishna, who saved them during the turn of the last Yuga, be able to save them now? What will be the price to pay?
Enter the mythical world of Maha Vishnu and get swept up in a fast-paced suspenseful narrative.

My Take:

Very few authors can blend two genres. A risk especially when one is related to mythology and another one science. Both are as different as chalk and cheese and have some really loyal followers. When I read the blurb, I was amazed with the amalgamation of genres which prompted me to ask the author for a copy for review which he generously and quickly did. Thank you Arpit Bakshi for that and Amazon for a prompt delivery.

This book talks about Krishna who is similar to Lord Krishna in many ways, Lots of science with a little bit of Mahabharata and the famous Lord Krishna and Arjun conversation. This book I can say created a world of fantasy for me as I could visualize each and every scene, be it be the characters or the sequences. The author has the ability to bring them alive with his words.

How we humans are fast destroying nature and the gifts of nature and what price we might pay as consequences is written in a very subtle yet powerful way. The problems we might face with upgrading technology and diminishing nature is something to ponder about.  The names of the characters derived from the many names of Krishna makes it more real.

The story revolves around Krishna and his quest to find a better planet for the Manavas (the better version of humans) and he landed up in Prithvi which has environment as Earth.

For me the best part of the book was; Two Vishnu Incarnations Ram and Krishna have to join hands for the mission. Both at opposite ends, how they come together or stand for their own principles and point of view makes it a very dynamic read. Whatever I expected or not but this was very unexpected and  definitely blew my mind. Just loved the possibility of two equally strong personalities in the same book. Read to find out more about this amazing development.

The book has ended in a cliffhanger note and I can't wait to read the next in a series. A second for me first being the famous Shiva Trilogy.

Waiting for the next in the series with bathed breath. More power to you Arpit for such a lovely creation.

Rating:
I would rate this 4.5/ 5 , the 0.5 less for the wait of the next in the series. :)  Pick this up and I am sure you won't regret this even for a minute.
