"The Weekend Shuffle: From Plans to PJs"

Weekends—those precious days we look forward to all week! They arrive like a tortoise, slow and steady, but leave like a rabbit, flying by in a blink. We make plans to chill, but they often fall apart, and we end up unsatisfied, always waiting for the next one to go right. And when the weekend ties in with a festival, it’s a whole different ball game! The excitement, the endless plans, the high expectations… only to be met with the after-effects—empty sweet boxes, deserted pandals, and dimmed diyas. The magic fades so fast. 😔

For me, weekends are all about waking up late. But since I’m an early riser by nature, I still end up up early, then curl up with a book until I fall asleep again. After that, it’s all about breakfast—either cooking or grabbing a bite from the nearest Udipi. Bonus points if the TV plays all my favorite shows back to back. Then, a leisurely oil bath, followed by a simple lunch (usually one-pot or Pavbhaji). If we eat out or order in, it’s a treat. Hubby’s more of a homemade food person, but me and kiddo are all about the food adventures. 😋

I live for my after-breakfast naps (much better than the post-lunch ones!). I love not having to check the time when I nap—just let the day flow. Sometimes, I'll write a blog post or chat with an old friend. And of course, some quality time with hubby to wrap up the day. These little joys make me look forward to the next weekend, even if I know it’ll fly by in a flash.
