Time for a Change in How We Raise Our Sons
All said and done, even with education and experience, the expectations from girls never seem to change. We're still expected to juggle everything—studies, work, cooking, and taking care of the family. There’s nothing wrong with being multi-faceted, but as a responsible parent, I truly feel it's time we start educating our boys in the same way we do our girls.
Even today, moms are the ones teaching their daughters household chores, while boys are often pampered and exempted. Why is this still the case? In today’s world, it’s high time we stop only teaching girls how to be “ideal” and start teaching boys how to be wonderful husbands, hands-on fathers, and equal partners in every sense.
It’s not just about fairness—it’s about raising the next generation of men who can share responsibilities, appreciate their partners, and contribute equally to the home and family. It’s about teaching boys to respect, care, and support their partners instead of just expecting them to take on everything.
We need to break the mold. We need to start raising our sons to not just succeed in their careers but to also be emotionally mature, responsible, and respectful in their homes. After all, equality doesn’t just mean the workplace—it starts at home.
