Sounds very easy to say and it is easy provided you want to accept the mistake and are genuinely sorry. Not everyone has the courage to own up to mistakes. When someone apologizes for their mistake, it means either they want to end the topic or are genuinely sorry for their actions.

Also, never apologize if you put yourself first. It’s ok to be selfish sometimes. Respecting self is the first step towards a happy life.
